DIRECTORATE OF EXTENSION, PLACEMENT & CONSULTING (DoEPC) SERVICES  

At the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science (IAAS), the Directorate of Extension retained its original designation until 2025 (2082 BS). It was later restructured and renamed the Directorate of Extension, Placement, and Consulting Services (DoEPC) to accommodate expanded functions and diverse institutional purposes.

The Directorate operates through three core services: Extension Service: The Directorate is committed to conducting, collaborating, and facilitating outreach and extension activities, projects, and programs that strengthen agricultural teaching and learning across constituent and affiliated campuses. A central focus remains the dissemination of scientific information to address current challenges in agriculture and animal sciences, thereby enhancing the institute’s teaching system through quality research and extension integration, and maintaining strong linkages with government extension and research bodies. Directorate will engage in capacity-building programs for farmers, and youth in animal husbandry, veterinary care, and entrepreneurship also by using digital platforms for knowledge sharing and veterinary telemedicine. Placement Service: Directorate helps students in career counseling identifying opportunities in INGOs, NGOs. Placement and career support for graduates to apply their knowledge to contribute to agriculture and livestock development by finding employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in various sectors. Consulting Service: Directorate also provides consulting services for stakeholders by bridging between academia, research, and practice enabling evidence based decision making among stakeholders on agricultural, veterinary extensions, farm management, livestock health, sustainable agriculture, rural development, market linkages, value chain development, etc. using the knowledge and resources of IAAS. The Directorate is planning to conduct the summer and winter schools including training based on knowledge, skill transfer, engagement etc on the specific demand and need of stakeholders.
